welcome

Hey There! I'm Katie Hall, and I am a photographer based out of Massachusetts. I specialize in weddings and kid portraits. I have to pinch myself everyday because I feel so lucky to be doing something that I LOVE! It is so exciting to me when a client calls me up, to tell me that they can't stop looking at their images! I feel honored to capture someone's special day, or a moment in a child's growth. Thank you for visiting my blog. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy capturing it!!

Meagan

Well, it is senior portrait time, and what a better model to start off the summer with than Meagan. She is such a sweet and cute girl. Wanting to go into fashion, you can tell she knows what she is doing. I love it when I get seniors that are excited about their portrait and want to show off their personality and style through their clothes. She was so great to work with…she made my job easy! Plus, look at those eyes…stunning!

Anyways, I wish her the best of luck with her upcoming senior year and college hunt. Thank you Paula for giving me the opportunity to shoot your daughter. I can see why you love taking pictures of her!

Carolyn + Jim = Engaged

I had such a great time photographing Carolyn and Jim’s engagement session. Everything I hope to capture in a portrait they brought to the table. They laughed, kissed, and acted themselves. They weren’t afraid to show their love for one another in front of the camera. With a little direction, they went for it, and acted natural… they made my job easy! They were such a sweet couple with such a fun vibe. It really made the whole experience so much fun.

Here are a couple shots from their session. Enjoy!

baby nathan

Before the 4th I had the amazing opportunity to capture the little life of Nathan. At just 5 1/2 months but about the size of a one year old he was such a little cutie. His parents told me I might have a hard time getting him to look happy in front of the camera, but I didn’t care. Sometimes it is best when they aren’t smiling. I love the natural facial expressions of a child. Whether it is crying, making sucking faces, or laughing, I think it is best to capture the child as is at that moment. I want my clients to look back someday at their images and smile as they remember the little faces their child used to make. Kids personalities and little features change so quickly, so I try to unobtrusively portray them as real as I can.

Anyways, here are some images from my shoot with Nathan. Enjoy!

Melissa + Jay = Married!

Melissa and Jay got married in Vegas but had a small event here in MA for friends and family. I only shot an hour of the event and probably had about 10 min with them outside but those few minutes were fun. They are such a unique and fun couple. I LOVE their look and I especially loved Melissa’s dress and shoes. Wow did she pull those off. Anyways, it was such a fun opportunity, and here are some of the images that I got!

Enjoy! :)

Valerie and Dan are married! 6.18.10 . White Elephant . Nantucket, MA

What a fun wedding to go and shoot in Nantucket. I had never been to the island so it was such a treat! Val and Dan had a small ceremony and reception at the White Elephant, with just their bridal party and family. They lucked out with such a beautiful day, with clear weather and a nice breeze. It really was such a magical place. Unfortunately myself and the guests couldn’t stay too long because Valerie and Dan had a 2nd reception planned two days later in Holyoke, MA with the rest of their family and friends. It was really fun for me to shoot this wedding because just this past October I shot Valerie’s younger sister’s wedding in Connecticut. I always love working within the same family especially when they are as sweet as this one! :)

Anyways, here are a handful of images from their intimate Nantucket wedding. Enjoy!

baby gabby is 6 weeks!

Babies, babies, and more babies! They seem to be on my mind a lot lately… haha I wonder why? Baby shoots have been extra fun these days since I will be having one of my own shortly. They are so magical and beautiful to photograph. Whether they are making silly faces, screaming and crying, or just sleeping, they are all so honest and pure. I just really love capturing each individual child and their cute features.

Gabby who is 6 weeks was quite a treat. With her cute little long fingers and toes and her bright blue eyes, she just lit up the room. Although we had a hard time getting her to fall asleep I had a fun time capturing her many facial expressions. Like most of my baby clients, I will be capturing her over the next year. So, I look forward to seeing her grow up and change over the next few months. Make sure to stay tuned for our next shoot!

Mr. Jacoby Brown is 9 Months!!

Wow! I can’t believe it! This year is going by soo fast. Jacoby is almost a year! So crazy. I am sure his family is feeling the same way. He is growing up to be the most charming little kid. When you see these shots of him, if they don’t melt your heart, I don’t know what will. He is the cutest little guy, and he is such a thrill to photograph. His expressions and smiles are so pure and sweet. He really makes you smile. Going through his images and editing them, it really got me excited for my own little boy to arrive. It is so fun to capture them as they grow up. They really do change so quickly.

Well, I hope you enjoy these images as much as I did capturing them.

Congratulations Steve + Tracy!!

Steve and Tracy have had quite a year! They have a new beautiful house, got married on 5/29/10, and have a baby on the way! I am so excited for the two of them. They are such a sweet couple and I feel honored to have been able to shoot their wedding. The day really turned out to be a beautiful one, since it wasn’t looking so good in the surrounging towns. As planned they were still able to get married outside and even have a clear night as the sun setted for portraits. It was truely a fun event and I had a great time capturing it. Well, here are a couple of my favorite images from the day, but if you would like to see a couple more I have a “sneak peak” slideshow online for you to view. Just click on the link below to see some more of their day.

Valerie + Dan are engaged!

I was so excited when Valerie booked me for her wedding this summer. I met her when I shot her sister’s wedding last fall in CT. Valerie and Dan are getting married this June in Nantucket at the White Elephant. It is going to be a very small intimate wedding with a 2nd reception a few days later back at home. I am excited to travel to Nantucket because I have never been there. I have heard many great things about it but I have  never had the chance to go.

Anyways, here are some shots we got from their engagement session. Such a sweet and close couple. I am so lucky to have such wonderful clients to photograph.

“Best Friends”… Katie + Taylor

So, I am not sure if you remember but last summer I did Katie’s senior portrait. It was a lot of fun and she was such a sweet girl to work with. She loved her images so much and had such a fun time she told me she wanted to do a photo shoot with her best friend at the end of the year. It would be a gift that they would give to each other before they both split for college. Anyways, not thinking she would remember about the shoot Katie called me the other week letting me know she was still interested. I was psyched. Katie was such a pleasure to shoot I knew adding her best friend would make it that much more fun. And to tell you the truth it was great. They were both so sweet and totally excited about doing a really cool and fashion oriented shoot.

Anyways, here are some of my favorites from the shoot. You may notice a little different editing style on some of them because I wanted to try and give the images a rustic/vintage look. I really wanted the girls to look like they could be modeling clothes for Anthropologie or doing an editorial piece in a magazine. Well, enjoy and I would love to know what you all think!
